I was 5/8th of my way to going the “Grand Slam” running club and needed a race in Africa. We spoke to Joshua about having his Bar Mitzvah in Africa. When he responded positively, Vivian put her travel agent cap on and put together a three and a half week trip. We started by going to Tanzania. From there I climbed Mount Kilomanjaro (made it to about 17,000 before sucumming to altitude sickness). Vivian and Joshua took the easy route and spent a couple of days relaxing in Zanzabar. We met up again for my marathon and the spent five days on a safari in Tanzania. Then onto Uganda for a week in Jewish village where Joshua was Bar Mitzvahed.
